Kent State to kickoff football season in Cleveland
The Golden Flashes will meet the Eagles in the Patriot Bowl.
Kent State will open its football season against Boston College, in a game played at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Kent State will also host five more contests at its newly renovated Dix Stadium.
"I'm pleased to announce our 2008 schedule," KSU Athletic Director Laing Kennedy said. "It provides us a great opportunity for some exciting home games including the grand opening of our new-look stadium and having the Akron and Homecoming games on back-to-back weekends."
The Flashes' first home game will be held September 13th, when they take on Delaware State.
It will feature official unveiling of the renovations to Dix Stadium¹s south end zone, which include a new scoreboard.
KSU will also host the annual battle for the Wagon Wheel, against arch-rival Akron.
That game is set for October 4th.
The Golden Flashes return 15 starters and 41 letterwinners from last year's team.
